People Are Funny

Wow, I almost forgot about this thing. Lucky I have no readers to disappoint. I'm trying to think why I decided to come back to this and the only reason I can come up with is that I finally got bored of facebook. I just realized how phenomenally long my last post was and so now I have an idea of how much I should actually type. I apologize to my non-readers.

What's new in my life since like five months ago? I got another letter from Samuel the other day. He's learning about "combing the hair" and "eating with a fork". What a bright kid. I still don't have a name for my quad, so by the time anyone reads this to give me ideas it will be too late. That means that I probably won't have the cheer made up before camp. Oh well. That's about all that's new.

I want to have some sort of consistent portion to my blog so here are my most recent complaints: I finally tried to start using thong style flip-flops and got my foot stabbed by a really sharp piece of tall grass. I'm not sure if that's a complaint against grass or thong sandals. We have chips in my house but no salsa. I'm super pale and it's not sunny enough for me to tan. Wow, I can only think of three complaints. Life is good.

Last paragraph, I promise. I was reading Psalm 119 today because I'm pretty sure it's the longest chapter in the Bible and I've never read all of it. I know that's a lame reason but God taught me anyways. It's all about following and delighting in God's commands, which is interesting because I don't usually think about it but the reason I find them so hard to follow usually is because I'm not enjoying that God has them there to protect and prosper me. I think it's funny that the most popular part of this passage is verse 105- "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path". And yet almost everybody (including me) ignores the verses that dominate this psalm like verse 20- "My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times". We love the flowery idea that God is guiding us but refuse to play our part in following Him. People are funny.
